I meant to say in reply to Gabriel:
You can pass multiple (lots of!) files to get or delete or put at one time to obexftp.
Maybe that is because it is now 2009!?
I'm using ObexFTP 0.19

Nice post :)
I've thrown together an ugly script to automate sync (a dumb enough sync) of files from my phone.
And make an ugly blog post about the ugly script also:
http://gaoithe.livejournal.com/33541.html

It would be nice to sync properly like rsync (i.e. check files size and date/times on host and device).
It would be nice to use rsync itself! :)
Possibly obexftp could be improved, commands like "get-if-changed, put-if-not-up-to-date", recursive ability.
Hmm. Hmm.

Thanks, this really helped me out a lot. I'm surprised obexftp works the way it does, responding with XML to one command at a time instead of presenting a more familiar ftp interface.

Hi,

I am also pissed bout the unavailability of STORE in india. Really horrible.
Workaround
==========
Create another user. Register another master account and give a US address there. This will allow you to access Playstation Store. But you will still need to have a US credit card to buy anything there. Still you can access free content like demos etc.

Hey,

I was also planning to get a PS3 when i go for my graduation in late April to New York, but wasnt sure whether it will work or not. I found this post via a google search. Could you tell me whether you had any problems, either with power, or with the hardware not working in India?

Your help is appreciated!

As you would be knowing the basic computing usage like (a) Browsing Net
(b) Playing Music, Images and (c) Word processing - Don't require much variation in processing power over a 4-5 year period.
However Gaming requires one to change the GPU and to some extent CPU every 2 years, if you want to play the latest and greatest game. However in case of game consoles as the h/w itself isn't upgraded for atleast 4-5 years, the game developers/studios keep developing new games for the same console for atleast 4-5 years. So one can keep playing new games being released for the Game Console for atleast 4-5 years. Also generally when a Console starts out its GPU power is normally very good compared to PCs' at that time.

If what you are saying is true then that is great news. People who buy computers for surfing the net, music, storing and viewing photos, playing games and then doing a bit of word proccessing can now go for a ps3 that need not be upgraded for the next 4-5 years. That would be a great option indeed!!
